England vs. South Africa, Rugby International

England
vs.
South Africa

Match scheduled:
Date: 27-11-2010
Time: from 14:30 until 16:30 GMT/UK
End of Year Internationals

Another exhilarating weekend goes along today in International Rugby, including England vs. South Africa, both squads desiring to win and earn maximum points.

England will be looking to make it three wins in a row after defeating Australia and Samoa the last two weeks. They have been in good form and will be hoping to beat the World Champions South Africa. South Africa managed to get back from being behind to win versus Ireland and Wales but they left themselves to a great deal to do last week against Scotland and they'll be anticipating to come back to winning directions this week.

The match will be played at Twickenham Stadium, London this Saturday. If we consider the former record between both countries then South Africa is a come forward than England.

Both squads have played 31 matches against one another. South Africa has won 18, when England has gained 12 matches, 1 match was drawn.

South Africa has one additional edge over England and that is, England hasn't been able to defeat them since November 2007. They've lost 6 successive matches against South Africa.

If we see the track record of matches played at Twickenham Stadium, London, then both the squads have the equivalent record here against one another. They've played 16 matches at Twickenham arena and have won 8 matches each.

Although South Africa’s preceding record is better than England’s, they are passing across a rough patch. First they had to declare their team for the Northern Hampshire without several star players, who were confronting injury troubles. Then they faced up one additional trouble, while their 2 players were sent back to South Africa because of a positive dope test.

South Africa’s current form is as well not up to the mark. They've only been able to win 1 match out of the 6 matches in the freshly completed Tri Nations Tournament. Without doubt that England’s current form is better than South Africa and South Africa is as well lacking many star players but yet they have a lot of gifted young players with them, who are fully able to give England a tough time. If they play according to their game plan then they could finish their tour with a triumph.

England have won 11 out of 24 matches played since MARTIN JOHNSON became team coach in July 2008, with two wins and seven defeats against Tri-Nations opponents.

South Africa have now won 15 out of 19 matches played against northern hemisphere opposition under Head Coach, Peter De Villiers. The three defeats before last weekend’s loss to Scotland came against the British and Irish Lions in 2009 when South Africa had already won the series and against France and Ireland on last year’s European tour.
Willem Alberts scored the Springboks 100th try against Scotland last weekend in 38 matches played since De Villiers took over in 2008.
